Electronic Communications Disclosure
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, this Electronic Communications Disclosure (“Agreement”) and any other agreements, notices, disclosures, messages or alerts, or other communications regarding this KeyBank Referral Program Site (“Site”) or any financial service or product with Key (collectively referred to as "Communications"), may be provided to you electronically and you agree to receive Communications in an electronic form. Electronic Communications may be posted on the pages within this Site and/or delivered to your e-mail address on record with us. You agree to maintain your email address on file with us and update us to any changes. All electronic Communications will be considered to be "in writing," and to have been received and effective upon posting on this Site or dissemination to your email address, whether or not you have retrieved or read the electronic Communication. Key reserves the right to provide Communications in paper format. Your consent to receive Communications electronically is valid until you revoke your consent by notifying Key by a paper writing of your decision to do so. If you revoke your consent to receive Communications electronically, Key may terminate your right to use the Site or obtain electronically Key's financial services or products (including redeeming any deposit accounts), and you accept sole liability for any early withdrawal penalty, tax or other consequence resulting from an involuntary termination of a Financial Service, to the extent permitted by law. By viewing and consenting to this Agreement, you have established that you are able to receive electronic Communications.
In order for us to provide the Disclosures to you electronically, we must ask you to agree to receive the Disclosures in that manner. If you do not agree, you will not be allowed to participate in the KeyBank Refer-a-Friend Program (“Program”).
Please read this Disclosure carefully and retain a copy of this Disclosure and the Terms and Conditions below for your records.
We will provide all Disclosures to you on screen or when you click on the link we, or our service provider, provide to you. You may be required to open the link that contains the Disclosures. You may print or make a copy of the Disclosures by printing from your browser or saving a copy. You may wish to do this when we present the Disclosures to you because the Disclosures may not be accessible at all times.
KeyBank Refer-a-Friend Program Terms and Conditions
The Referrer must register for the Program, agree to these Terms and Conditions and the Electronic Communications Disclosure, and share the Program offer with their friends, family, or co-workers via email or other provided channels. A Referrer may receive up to five (5) digital Mastercard® Prepaid Cards ($500 value) within a calendar year for eligible referrals made in the program. Only one Referrer may receive a digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card for each Referred Person who completes the requirements (the first Referrer that enters the information for a Referred Person will be the eligible receiver).
The Referred Person may only receive one digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card for opening an eligible account and completing the Program Qualifications listed below, but may also be eligible as a Referrer after becoming a KeyBank client. There is a limit of one digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card paid per qualifying account. So, for example, in the event more than one Referred Person opens a jointly held account, one digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card will be paid to the Referred Person named first within the account registration.
The Referrer authorizes the sending of program-initiated emails to each Referred Person which are sent on the Referrer's behalf. If the Referred Person's email address is in KeyBank and/or Extole’s email opt-out database, the email will not be sent. Returned/invalid email addresses and non-deliverable addresses are not the responsibility of KeyBank or Extole. By participating in the Program, the Referrer agrees that KeyBank and/or Extole may disclose to the Referred Person that the Referrer is a client of KeyBank.
The Referred Person acknowledges that a digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card will be issued to both parties (the Referrer and Referred Person) after all conditions have been met in the time frame stated. A digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card will be emailed to the addresses provided at registration. Employees of KeyBank and its affiliates are not eligible to participate in the Program as either a Referrer or Referred Person.
KeyBank is not responsible for and will not honor promotional offers on third-party websites that are not authorized by KeyBank.
In order to be an eligible Referrer you must be a current consumer checking or savings client of KeyBank and be signed up for online banking. In order to be an eligible Referred Person for the Program you must not currently have a consumer checking account with KeyBank or have had a consumer checking account with KeyBank within the last 12 months prior to account opening. The Program may be discontinued or changed at any time without notice.
In order for the Referred Person to earn a $100 digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card, the Referred Person must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Open a Key Smart Checking® account (this is the basic banking account in NY), or a Key Select CheckingSM account by December 31, 2023 and make ONE single direct deposit of at least $500 into the new KeyBank account. The minimum opening deposit for Key Smart Checking is $10. The minimum opening deposit for Key Select Checking is $50. Key Select Checking is an interest bearing account; for current balance tiers and rates, please call 1-866-821-9154 or visit key.com. Clients using a TDD/TTY device, please call 1-800-539-8336. Key Advantage Checking, Key Privilege Checking, and Key Privilege Select Checking are no longer offered; however, if you opened one of these accounts, you are still eligible to receive this promotion if you opened an account utilizing a referral link and qualifications are met. Checking account service charges and balance requirements can be found on key.com. Direct deposit must be made within 60 days of account opening and is limited to payroll, Social Security, pension, and government benefits. Accounts titled as Trust Accounts, Estate, Non-Individual, and No access are excluded from eligibility.

The client you refer must open a Key Smart Checking® account (this is the basic banking account in NY), or a Key Select CheckingSM account and make a single direct deposit of $500 or more within 60 days after account opening (direct deposit transactions are limited to payroll, Social Security, pension and government benefits)in order for you to receive your referral prepaid card in the amount of $100. Referee offer is available to clients who do not have or haven’t had a KeyBank Hassle-Free Account® or a KeyBank checking account during the past 12 months. Key Advantage Checking, Key Privilege Checking, and Key Privilege Select Checking are no longer offered; however, if Referee opened one of these accounts, they are still eligible to receive this promotion if they opened an account utilizing a referral link and qualifications are met. Due to privacy regulations, KeyBank is unable to disclose the status of your referral’s account opening and account usage. Your existing checking account must be open and in good standing upon gift payment. Your prepaid card will be delivered within 60 days of the referred new client meeting all requirements. If Referee accepts a different promotion available in market, other disclosures may apply and neither the Referee or Referrer will be eligible for this promotion.
The maximum you can earn by referring new KeyBank clients is $500 in prepaid cards per calendar year. Your participation in this program may result in the receipt of taxable income from KeyBank and we may be required to send to you, and file with the IRS, a Form 1099-MISC (miscellaneous income). You are responsible for any tax liability, including disclosure requirements, related to participating in this program. Please consult your tax advisor if you have any questions about your personal tax situation.

The digital Mastercard® Prepaid Cards are subject to Terms and Conditions delivered electronically with the card, including limitations on types of transactions for which they may be used. KeyBank will not be liable if the digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card is lost or stolen after being delivered to the email address provided at registration by the Referrer or Referred Person, as applicable. If the digital Mastercard® Prepaid Card has expired, KeyBank is not responsible or required to distribute replacements.
